Pilates is a great form of exercise during pregnancy and it provides many benefits. These include relief from back pain, posture changes and improved breathing techniques to aid in calming nerves and easing labour pains. All exercise is undertaken in a safe and comfortable environment. You will learn how to activate your deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to help prevent low back and pelvic pain. Pilates can be continued post-natally to ensure your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles recover strength and tone safely.
Mums and Bubs
Our Mums, Bubs and Toddlers classes are designed for Mums to bring the kids along and get a good workout at the same time! Post-natal Pilates helps to achieve a toned, stronger mid-section and help aid weight loss whilst helping with the demands of motherhood. This is a very relaxed class setting where the babies are free to explore the studio or stay close to Mum.
Whether you’re a beginner or an elite athlete, our whole body vibration technology will help you achieve your goals. Many traditional exercises can be done on the Power Plate, and the results are magnified due to the Power Plate activating the body’s natural reflexive response to vibration. The surface vibrates 25 to 50 times per second resulting in a natural response that works your muscles harder while doing the same exercises. Involuntary muscle activity promotes quick, reflexive responses in muscle fibers and an increase in circulation. That means development in whole–body balance, mobility and stability, strength and motor control, in a shorter time frame than with traditional methods. With whole body vibration training, you get a complete, full-body workout incorporating stretch, balance, core, strength-building and massage, all in a 30 minute class.
A one on one session with the instructor will guide you through a series of exercises to help you hone in on your deep core muscles effectively. In this session you will use a variety of equipment and props including swissballs, resistance bands, and Pilates magic circles. Ideal for those who are starting out with Pilates, who would like to take their practice to the next level, or those recovering from serious injury.
